This article analyzes the contributions of the Kavilando collective in defending the territory against urban development in Medellín between 2015 and 2020. From a qualitative and hermeneutic perspective, this research used documentary analysis and interviews with group members. For the documentary analysis, documents were considered that evidenced economic, political, and psychosocial impacts, including family breakdowns, deterioration of the social fabric, and increased poverty, collected by Kavilando. It is worth noting that the group's main actions have focused on training, participatory research, participation in public policies, and social mobilization.
